Coretta Scott King is quoted as saying, “The greatness of a community is most accurately measured by the compassionate actions of its members.” If this is true, then our community is truly exceptional.
While we navigate the uncharted waters of providing emergency services during a global pandemic, members of our community have rallied in support. A simple Facebook post asking for specific items results in multiple calls and emails with offers of donations and volunteer time.
Along with initiating additional protocols such as reminders to wash hands, practicing social distancing and utilizing phone and internet to facilitate meetings; we are having to postpone fundraising events for later in the year so that we follow government guidelines and do not put any of our supporters at risk.
We are grateful beyond measure for everyone who has provided donations, of every kind, so that we can continue to serve victims of domestic violence; providing emergency shelter, a 24/7 confidential hotline, and a variety of other services.
